1. NH3-SCR chemistry for NOx abatement: Influence of zeolite support on N2O formation & phosphorus species addition
Sammanfattning : Different lattice arrangements of Si, Al, and O atoms result in a variety of pore dimensions and zeolite channel network systems, giving rise to different physicochemical environments inside the catalyst cage. The objective of the thesis work was to understand the influence of zeolite topology on NH3-assisted SCR chemistry over CHA, MFI, and BEA frameworks, on the formation of N2O and the addition of phosphorus species to attain fundamental insight into NOx emission control. 2. Effects of trace elements in biodiesel on the performance of diesel oxidation catalysts in heavy-duty vehicles
Sammanfattning : To reduce net greenhouse gas emissions, a shift towards adoption of biofuels is ongoing in the transport sector. Heavy-duty diesel vehicles are equipped with aftertreatment equipment, comprising of catalysts and filters, and how this equipment is affected by the use of biofuels is not yet fully understood. 3. Development of a regeneration procedure for commercial automotive three-wy catalysts
Sammanfattning : Car exhaust catalysts were introduced in the early 1980’s, to limit the release of pollutants such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxides and nitrogen oxides. These catalysts contain noble metals such as palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt) and rhodium (Rh) and are able to simultaneously abate all three of the above-mentioned pollutants, hence the name three-way catalyst (TWC). 4. Palladium-catalyzed aromatic coupling and allylic substitution
Sammanfattning : Different types of palladium(II)-catalyzed aromatic couplingreactions have been investigated. The cyclization of diphenyl ether was found to be moresensitive to reaction conditions than was the cyclization ofthe diphenylamine derivatives. LÄS MER
5. Deactivation of after-treatment catalysts for bio-fuelled engines
Sammanfattning : To decrease the emissions of anthropogenic CO2 from vehicles one option is to increase the utilization of biobased fuels. However, there are challenges with this transition, one being the mitigation of emissions of the potent greenhouse gas methane, which is the main constituent of biogas. LÄS MER
