  1. 6. Corrosion of painted galvanized steel pretreated with Zr-based thin films

    Författare :Konrad Tarka; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HDG; cyclic corrosion test; SEM; EDS; XRD; Atmospheric corrosion;

    Sammanfattning : For decades, phosphating has been considered state of the art for pretreating car bodies in order to promote corrosion resistance and paint adhesion. Although it offers excellent corrosion protection, the phosphating process has drawbacks. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion behavior of low-temperature carburized austenitic stainless steel

    Författare :Xiao Qin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low-temperature carburising; hydrogen embrittlement; Austenitic stainless steel; microstructure; corrosion behavior; expanded austenite;

    Sammanfattning : For metallic components used in hydrogen environments, hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion have always been important considering potential failure risks. Among many metallic materials, austenitic stainless steel has found broad application because of its excellent corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement resistance. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Deposit Induced Corrosion in Biofuel Combustion

    Författare :Petter Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ferritic steel; high temperature corrosion; superheater; waste combustion; CFB; biofuel boiler; waterwall; alkali chloride; deposit induced corrosion; chromate; nickel-based alloy; austenitic steel; martensitic steel; waste boiler;

    Sammanfattning : Deposit induced corrosion is one of the main mechanisms for attack on heat exchangers in biofuel boilers. This severe corrosion decreases the obtainable steam temperature in boilers, thereby the efficiency in production of electricity is reduced. Deposit formation from the gas on superheater tubes are is generally referred to as fouling. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Furnace Wall Corrosion in a Wood-fired Boiler

    Författare :Yousef Alipour; Pamela Henderson; Mikko Hupa; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High Temperature Corrosion; Used-wood Fired Boilers; Furnace Wall Corrosion; Cl-induced Corrosion; 16Mo3; Nickel-based Alloys; FeCrAl Alloys; Fuel Additive; Sewage Sludge; >Thermodynamics Modelling; Högtemperaturkorrosion; Returträ Förbränningspannor; Eldstad Korrosion; klor-inducerad korrosion; 16Mo3; Nickelbaslegeringar; FeCrAl-legeringar; Bränsletillsatser; Avloppsslam; Termodynamik Modellering; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The use of renewable wood-based fuel has been increasing in the last few decades because it is said to be carbon neutral. However, wood-based fuel, and especially used wood (also known as recycled wood or waste wood), is more corrosive than virgin wood (forest fuel), because of higher amounts of chlorine and heavy metals. 5. 10. Corrosion of steel in concrete at various moisture and chloride levels

    Författare :Johan Ahlström; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; steel; rebar; concrete; corrosion; chloride threshold level; moisture;

    Sammanfattning : About 7000 concrete bridges in Sweden were built before 1965. The annual cost for maintenance of these bridges is about 0.6% of their total value. The cooling water tunnels at Swedish nuclear power plants have been exposed to seawater for about 30-40 years. LÄS MER
