11. Structure-Property Relationships in Chromophore-Organogel Assemblies: Consequences for Triplet-Triplet Annihilation and Singlet Fission
Sammanfattning : Better utilization of the solar spectrum by absorbing photons that are currently wasted by solar cells, due to the bandgap mismatch with the semiconductor, will help to improve the device efficiency. Two low energy photons can be upconverted to one high energy photon through triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA-UC); one high energy photon can be down converted to form two charge carriers through singlet fission (SF). 12. Rheocasting of aluminium alloys : Process and components characteristics
Sammanfattning : Semi-Solid Metal (SSM) casting is a promising technology offering an opportunity to manufacture net-shape, complex geometry metal components in a single operation. However, the absence of foundry guidelines and limited design data for SSM casting makes it challenging to predict the performance of both process and components. LÄS MER
13. The role of primary austenite morphology in cast iron
Sammanfattning : Automotive industry products portfolio includes a wide variety of complex-shaped cast iron products, such as truck engine components. Urged by strict environmental regulations on emissions, these components constantly need to combine higher demands on performance with lighter designs. LÄS MER
14. The Horizontal Ussing Chamber Method in Studies of Nasal Drug Delivery : Method Development and Applications Using Different Formulations
Sammanfattning : The results from this thesis leads to the following conclusions; HUM is a useful tool that fills a gap in the in vitro methods previously available to study nasal drug delivery. Using HUM, the pig respiratory nasal mucosa can obtain acceptable viability and retain it longer than the period of time needed for a transport experiment. LÄS MER
15. Mercerization and Enzymatic Pretreatment of Cellulose in Dissolving Pulps
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the preparation of chemically and/or enzymatically modified cellulose. This modification can be either irreversible or reversible. Irreversible modification is used to prepare cellulose derivatives as end products, whereas reversible modification is used to enhance solubility in the preparation of regenerated cellulose. LÄS MER
