1. Additive-Driven Improvements in Interfacial Properties and Processing of TMP-Polymer Composites
Sammanfattning : Efforts to address environmental concerns have resulted in new regulations designed to plan the reduction of plastic and synthetic polymer usage, necessitating the search for sustainable natural alternatives with comparable cost-effectiveness and mechanical performance. Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fibres are one of the most affordable natural fibres that have no chemical refining in production, production have a high yield of 90-98% and TMP fibres have been demonstrated to improve the mechanical characteristics (strength, stiffness and toughness) of wood-polymer composites (WPCs) compared to the pure polymer. 2. Characteristics of wood plastic composites based on modified wood : Moisture properties, biological performance and micromorphology
Sammanfattning : Biobased materials made from renewable resources, such as wood, play an important role in the sustainable development of society. One main challenge of biobased building materials is their inherent moisture sensitivity, a major cause for fungal decay, mold growth and dimensional instability, resulting in decreased service life as well as costly maintenance. 3. Rheocasting of aluminium alloys : Process and components characteristics
Sammanfattning : Semi-Solid Metal (SSM) casting is a promising technology offering an opportunity to manufacture net-shape, complex geometry metal components in a single operation. However, the absence of foundry guidelines and limited design data for SSM casting makes it challenging to predict the performance of both process and components. LÄS MER
4. On Surface Characteristics and Microstructural Development of Soft Magnetic Composite Powder and Components
Sammanfattning : Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) products manufactured by traditional Powder Metallurgical (PM) techniques, are strong candidate materials for electromagnetic applications. Their advantages are based on cost and energy efficient production methods, shape complexity realization and uniquely uniform and isotropic three dimensional (3D) magnetic properties. LÄS MER
5. Data-driven lead-acid battery lifetime prognostics
Sammanfattning : To efficiently transport goods by heavy-duty trucks, it is important that vehicles have a high degree of availability and in particular avoid becoming standing by the road unable to continue the transport mission. An unplanned stop by the road does not only cost due to the delay in delivery, but can also lead to a damaged cargo. LÄS MER
