   Sammanfattning : Acute pyelonephritis is common in young children and can lead to permanent renal damage. Renal damage increases the risk of complications such as hypertension and decreased renal function later in life. Methods: Analyses of data, prospectively registered during childhood, and an adulthood follow-up investigation evaluating renal function by 51Cr-EDTA clearance and blood pressure by 24-hour ambulatory technique.
