  1. 1. Proteomics in neurological disease

    Författare :Jan Ottervald; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases are conditions affecting the central nervous system that in the end have dramatic impacts on the affected individuals and their families. Today, large efforts are made to understand the disease origin and progression. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On potentials and limitations of perfusion MRI in neurological disorders

    Författare :Markus Fahlström; Mark Lubberink; Adam Espe Hansen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurological disease; MRI; Perfusion; 15O-water PET; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Sammanfattning : Cerebral perfusion outlines several parameters which describe the status of cerebral haemodynamics. Numerous neurological diseases affect cerebral perfusion, thus the importance of diagnostic measurements. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Gene Therapy for Neurological Disorders

    Författare :Jan Tönnesen; Lund Neurologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epileptiform activity; striatum; organotypic culture; electrophysiology; Wnt5a; synaptic connectivity.; cell transplantation; hippocampus; neural stem cells; epilepsy; functional integration; Parkinson’s disease; optogenetics; Gene therapy;

    Sammanfattning : Gene therapy is an attractive strategy for neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy, for several reasons. Introduction of genes with a therapeutic potential can be achieved locally, by accurate injections in the compromised tissue, and release of a transgene therapeutic substance can be regulated by the surrounding host neural circuitry. 4. 4. Neurological consequences of cardiac arrest

    Författare :Hans Rosén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :cardiac arrest; prognosis; S-100; NSE; Neurofilament light protein; FIM; BNIS;

    Sammanfattning : An out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is a life-threatening event with very high early mortality. More than 50% of the patients who reach the emergency ward die, showing clinical signs of brain damage during the first weeks after admission. Survivors may suffer from post-ischemic encephalopathy, which influences their future lives. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Assessment of neurological prognosis after cardiac arrest – clinical and neurophysiological aspects

    Författare :Linus Lilja; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cardiac arrest; neurological prognosis; prognostication; electroencephalography; somatosensory evoked potentials;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Post-resuscitation care after cardiac arrest in adults includes targeted temperature management (TTM) to mitigate secondary brain injury. The recommended target temperature is between 32°C and 36°C after a large, international, randomized trial showed comparable outcomes (33°C vs. 36°C). LÄS MER
