  2. 2. Degradation Mechanisms of Heat Resistant Steel at Elevated Temperatures : In an Iron Ore Pelletizing Industry

    Författare :Erik A. A. Nilsson; Marta-Lena Antti; Ragnar Tegman; Jan-Erik Svensson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stainless steel; Grate-Kiln; microstructure; corrosion; as-casted; thermal cycling; erosion; deposition; Engineering Materials; Materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the different degradation mechanisms of the stainless steel in a travelling grate in a Grate-Kiln iron ore pellet indurator. The travelling grate is a conveyor belt that transports green-body pellets to a rotary kiln while the pellets are being dried and pre-heated to a temperature of 900-1100 °C by recycled hot air. 3. 3. Influence of hydrogen on corrosion and stress induced cracking of stainless steel

    Författare :Ulf Kivisäkk; Christofer Leygraf; Roy Johnsen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydrogen; corrosion; hydrogen embrittlement; stainless steels; uniform corrosion; activation; dewpoint corrosion; low temperature creep; plastic deformation; microhardness; Surface and colloid chemistry; Yt- och kolloidkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrogen is the smallest element in the periodical table. It has been shown in several studies that hydrogen has a large influence on the corrosion and cracking behaviour of stainless steels. Hydrogen is involved in several of the most common cathode reactions during corrosion and can also cause embrittlement in many stainless steels. LÄS MER

  4. 4. High Resolution Microanalysis of Creep Resistant 9-12% Chromium Steels

    Författare :Lars Lundin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; martensitic stainless steel; TEM; modified 12% chromium steel; creep resistant; atom-probe field-ion microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with detailed studies of the microstructure of 9-12% chromium steels. Three alloys with improved creep resistance have been studied in different stages of heat treatment and after creep testing. Two of them were manufactured using PM/HIP and were of the type 10. 5. 5. Development of characterisation methods for the components of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell

    Författare :Jari Ihonen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell; contacct resistance; clamping pressure; stainless steel; membrane degradation;

    Sammanfattning : In this work characterisation methods and fuel cell hardwarewere developed for studying the components of the polymerelectrolyte fuel cell (PEFC). Humidifiers and other componentswere tested in order to develop reproducible and reliableexperimental techniques. A set-up for testing larger cells andstacks was developed. LÄS MER
