1. Influence of hydrogen on corrosion and stress induced cracking of stainless steel
Sammanfattning : Hydrogen is the smallest element in the periodical table. It has been shown in several studies that hydrogen has a large influence on the corrosion and cracking behaviour of stainless steels. Hydrogen is involved in several of the most common cathode reactions during corrosion and can also cause embrittlement in many stainless steels. LÄS MER
2. Bipolar electrochemistry for high throughput screening applications
Sammanfattning : Bipolar electrochemistry is an interesting concept for high throughput screening techniques due to the ability to induce gradients in a range of materials and their properties, such as composition, particle size, or dopant levels, among many others. One of the key advantages of the method is the ability to test, create or modify materials without the need for a direct electrical connection. LÄS MER

4. Novel approaches for monitoring effects of steel corrosion in reinforced concrete
Sammanfattning : Corrosion of steel reinforcement is a common deterioration mechanism in reinforced concrete structures. This deterioration impacts the safety of the structure and may require extensive repair and maintenance work. There is currently no method available for accurately measuring internal corrosion damage non-destructively. LÄS MER
5. Quantified In Situ Analysis of Initial Atmospheric Corrosion : Surface heterogeneity, galvanic effects and corrosion product distribution on zinc, brass and Galvalume
Sammanfattning : The interaction of the surface of a pure metal or an alloy with the surrounding atmosphere occurs in a highly complex interfacial regime. During atmospheric corrosion this interfacial regime involves the metal surface, often covered by a naturally formed oxide layer of a few nanometers thickness; an aqueous adlayer, typically with a thickness of a few to a few tens of nanometers, and the atmosphere from which airborne particles, oxygen, and gaseous pollutants dissolve into the adlayer and influence the atmospheric corrosion process.
