6. Assembly and Function of Nitric Oxide Reductase from Paracoccus denitrificans
Sammanfattning : Bacterial denitrification is a part of the global nitrogen cycle and comprises the stepwise reduction of nitrate to molecular nitrogen, which is released to the atmosphere. Cytochrome c-dependent nitric oxide reductase (cNOR) from Paracoccus (P.) denitrificans catalyzes the reduction of nitric oxide to nitrous oxide and water. LÄS MER
7. A study of micro-particles in the dust and melt at different stages of iron and steelmaking
Sammanfattning : The dust particles generated due to mechanical wear of iron ore pellets and clusters formed in molten stainless steel alloyed with rare earth metals (REM) are considered in this study. Firstly, the influence of the characteristics of iron ore pellets, applied load on a pellet bed and partial reduction of the pellets on the size distribution of the generated dust was investigated. 8. Oxidation and reduction reactions of the water-oxidizing complex in photosystem II
Sammanfattning : The oxygen that we breathe and food that we eat are products of the natural photosynthesis. Molecular oxygen is crucial for life on Earth owing to its role in the glycolysis and citric acid pathways that yield in aerobic organisms the energy-rich ATP molecules. LÄS MER
9. Theoretical Studies on CO2 Reduction Electrocatalysts
Sammanfattning : The atmospheric CO2 concentration has increased by more than 20% since 1980s and has now reached the highest level than at any point in the past 800 000 years. Electrochemical CO2 reductions are receiving particular in- terest as the apparatus are relatively easy to maintain and cheap to operate. LÄS MER
10. Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx with NH3 - Kinetic Modeling and Experimental Studies using Zeolite Based Catalysts
Sammanfattning : Emissions from the combustion of fossil fuel contain several pollutants which can be converted over a catalyst to less harmful products. An efficient way to reduce nitrogen oxides in a lean environment is to apply selective catalytic reduction of these oxides with ammonia (NH3 SCR). LÄS MER
