    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Head and neck cancer; Biomolecular markers; Radiation; Radiation-induced mucositis; Oral Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma; Metabolomics; EGFR; Hyaluronan; Mast cells; Neutrophils; Oto-Rhino-Laryngology; Oto-rhino-laryngologi;

    Sammanfattning : Head and neck cancer is a heterogeneous group of tumours, of which certain subgroups such as cancer of the mobile tongue frequently are associated with a relatively poor prognosis due to the high risk of regional failure and mortality rates that haven’t improved in a significant way over the last 3 decades, despite advancements in both diagnostics and treatment.Today we lack means to assess the biological aggressiveness of each individual tumour, which varies largely. 3. 23. Septoplasty-predicting the outcome

    Författare :Lars Pedersen; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Nasal obstruction; outcome; PROM; septoplasty; turbinoplasty;

    Sammanfattning : Septoplasty is one of the most common surgical procedures at ENT clinics around the world. The reason for undergoing a septoplasty is nasal airway obstruction (NAO) that does not respond to any other treatment. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Vestibular schwannoma : Clinical, Epidemiological and Biochemical perspectives

    Författare :Christine Ölander; Göran Laurell; Per Olof Eriksson; Helge Rask-Andersen; Olafur Gudjonsson; Elina Mäki-Torkko; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Vestibular schwannoma (VS) is a slow growing benign tumour originating in the Schwann cells surrounding the vestibulocochlear nerve. Over recent decades, the incidence rate for VS has steadily increased, with greater numbers of patients with smaller tumours being diagnosed. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Orbital floor fractures - aspects of diagnostic methods, treatment and sequelae

    Författare :Lena Folkestad; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; orbital floor fracture: sequelae; patients experience; diplopia; entrapment; vertical eye motility; vertical electro-oculography vEOG ;

    Sammanfattning : Despite surgical intervention, orbital floor fractures are associated with risks of persisting sensibility disturbances, enophthalmos and diplopia. Cheek asymmetry and trismus may result when the zygoma is dislocated. In evaluating the surgical results patients’ experiences of the outcomes have to be investigated. LÄS MER
