  1. 16. Design, Synthesis, Mechanistic Rationalization and Application of Asymmetric Transition-Metal Catalysts

    Författare :Christian Hedberg; Pher G. Andersson; Hans-Ulrich Blaser; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; asymmetric catalysis; homogeneous hydrogenation; iridium; ruthenium; ligand design; mechanistic studies; kinetics; tolterodine; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes mechanistic studies, rational ligand design, and synthesis of asymmetric transition metal catalysts. The topics addressed concerned [Papers I-VII]:[I] The asymmetric addition of diethyl zinc to N-(diphenylphosphinoyl)benzalimine catalyzed by bicyclic 2-azanorbornyl-3-methanols was studied. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Development of ring-opening catalysts for diesel quality improvement

    Författare :Ulf Nylén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ring opening; naphthenes; cetane number improvement; indan; light cycle oil LCO ; Pt-Ir catalyst; catalyst characterization; aromatic sulphur compounds; GC-SCD; distribution; analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The global oil refining industry with its present shift inproduct distribution towards fuels such as gasoline and dieselwill most likely hold the fort for many years to come. However,times will change and survival will very much depend onprocessing flexibility and being at the frontiers of refiningtechnology, a technology where catalysts play leading roles. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Iridium Catalysed Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Olefins and Isomerisation of Allylic Alcohols

    Författare :Byron Peters; Pher Andersson; Andreas Pfaltz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The work described in this thesis is focused on exploring the efficacy of asymmetric iridium catalysis in the hydrogenation of challenging substrates, including precursors to chiral sulfones and chiral cyclohexanes. Furthermore, iridium catalysis was used to isomerise allylic alcohols to aldehydes, and in a formal total synthesis of Aliskiren (a renin inhibitor). LÄS MER

  4. 19. Iridium Catalyzed Carbon- Heteroatom Bond Forming Reactions via Hydrogen Transfer : Method Development and Mechanistic Elucidations

    Författare :Aitor Bermejo López; Belén Martín‐Matute; Eduardo Peris; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Catalysis; N-Heterocyclic carbene; N-Alkylation; Hydrogen transfer; Amino acids; Carbohydrates; Amines; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis describes the applicability of two different iridium(III) complexes for C-O and C-N bond forming reactions. The different projects described in this work are united by the use of an iridium catalyst bearing a functionalized N-heterocyclic carbene ligand. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Catalytic Methods to Convert Allylic Substrates through Hydride and Proton Shifts : Transition Metal-Catalyzed and Organocatalyzed Approaches

    Författare :Samuel Martinez-Erro; Belén Martín-Matute; Franziska Schoenebeck; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Allylic substrates; Iridium catalysis; Base catalysis; Method development; Isomerization; Hydride shift; Proton shift; Mechanistic studies; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis describes the development of new catalytic protocols to transform allylic substrates into a wide variety of versatile carbonyl and vinyl organic compounds. All procedures that are described in this work have in common the existence of one or more hydrogen shifts as key steps in the mechanism of the reactions. LÄS MER
