  1. 11. Tunable Filters based on Ferroelectrics and Semiconductor Varactors

    Författare :Anders Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High Temperature Superconductor HTS ; quality factor; tunable filter; phase transition; circular disc resonator; Cu BCB multilayer; KTaO3; ferroelectrics; dual mode filter; SrTiO3;

    Sammanfattning : Experimental investigation and development of tunable microwave filters, based on single crystals of SrTiO3 (STO) and KTaO3 (KTO), form the main work of this thesis. The dielectric properties of STO and KTO crystals are evaluated experimentally for a wide temperature range, with a DC bias, using parallel-plate resonators with High Temperature Superconductor (HTS) and normal metal (Cu) electrodes. 3. 13. Studies of high-temperature superconducting tapes and their application in power apparatus

    Författare :Torbjörn Wass; Sven Hörnfeldt; Runde Magne; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrocity physics; magnetism; electronics engineering; electrical engineering; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Intensive development in the field of high-temperature superconductors (HTS) has resulted in long length HTS with high current carrying capacity. The performance of HTS in the form of multifilamentary silver sheathed Bi-2223 tapes is close to the requirements for power application. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : High-throughput drug screening (HTS) in live cells is often a vital part of the preclinical anticancer drug discovery process. So far, two-dimensional (2D) monolayer cell cultures have been the most prevalent model in HTS endeavors. However, 2D cell cultures often fail to recapitulate the complex microenvironments of in vivo tumors. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Exploring genetic heterogeneity in cancer using high-throughput DNA and RNA sequencing

    Författare :Erik Fasterius; Cristina Al-Khalili Szigyarto; Mathias Uhlén; Peter-Bram ’t Hoen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biotechnology; bioinformatics; RNA-seq; WGS; WES; systems biology; variant analysis; single nucleotide variant; gene expression; machine learning; clustering; open source; R; bioconductor; Python; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : High-throughput sequencing (HTS) technology has revolutionised the biomedical sciences, where it is used to analyse the genetic makeup and gene expression patterns of both primary patient tissue samples and models cultivated in vitro. This makes it especially useful for research on cancer, a disease that is characterised by its deadliness and genetic heterogeneity. LÄS MER
