  1. 1. Intestinal IgA synthesis: Localization and requirements for IgA class switch recombination

    Författare :Peter Bergqvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IgA; Intestine; Gut associated lymphoid tissue; class switch recombination; CD40; germ free;

    Sammanfattning : Production of IgA at mucosal surfaces is one of the most striking features of the mucosal immune system. Despite that IgA was first discovered in the 1950’s and secretory IgA described in gut secretions and breast milk in the mid 1960’s we still have limited information about the sites and exact requirements for IgA class switch recombination. 2. 2. Characterisation of CD8 T cells in mucosa associated lymphoid tissue : implications for immune control of HIV-1 infection

    Författare :Máire Quigley; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :CD8 T cells; Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1; Mucosa Associated Lymphoid Tissue; perforin; cytotoxicity; gastrointestinal mucosa; tonsil; CD7 expression; Simian Immunodeficiency Virus.;

    Sammanfattning : The role of CD8 T cells has been implicated in the partial immune control of HIV-1 infection. Ultimately these cells fail to control the infection and immune deficiency ensues in the absence of antiretroviral therapy. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The ontogeny and function of intestinal dendritic cells

    Författare :Emma Persson; Slemhinnans immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mesenteric lymph nodes; Intestine; Dendritic cells; Gut-homing; Th17 cells; Oral tolerance; Immunity;

    Sammanfattning : The intestinal mucosa presents a huge surface area to the external environment and the intestinal immune system is continually exposed to a wide array of foreign antigens derived from resident intestinal microbiota as well as dietary constituents, including food proteins. In order to maintain intestinal homeostasis, the intestinal immune system relies on the ability to generate tolerogenic responses to innocuous antigen while maintaining the ability to develop effective immune responses to intesinal pathogens. 4. 4. Early infant gut flora and neutral oligosaccharides in colostrum in relation to allergy development in children

    Författare :Ylva Sjögren; Eva Sverremark-Ekström; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Today, atopic allergy is the most common chronic disease among children in the developed world. The increase in allergy prevalence during the past decades in these countries might be associated with lower microbial exposure. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The role of exocrine pancreas for feed intake and growth. Studies in a model with exocrine pancreatic insufficient young pigs

    Författare :Olexandr Fedkiv; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; exocrine pancreatic insufficiency; pigs; pancreatic duct ligation; adaptation;

    Sammanfattning : Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), resulting from disease (e.g. cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis) or surgery (e.g. LÄS MER
