  1. 16. Quantitative methods for diffusion measurements in fluorescence microscopy

    Författare :Marco Longfils; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cross-validation.; single particle tracking; Confocal laser scanning microscopy; raster scan; correlation spectroscopy; mixture models; diffusion;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, statistical methods are developed for mapping mass transport locally based on images collected using a confocal laser scanning microscope. Besides presenting raster image correlation spectroscopy as an established method in fluorescence microscopy, we introduce a single particle tracking method which takes advantage of the raster scanning of the image in a confocal microscope.     Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fluiddynamik; Gaser; plasma; Maskinteknik; vibration and acoustic engineering; vacuum technology; hydraulics; vibrationer; vakuumteknik; statistical inference; Mechanical engineering; polarisation spectroscopy; diamond CVD; quantitative spectroscopy; hydraulik; gas phase kinetics; plasmas; fluid dynamics; Gases; Fysik; akustik; Physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Walewski;

    Sammanfattning : Gas phase reactions at elevated temperatures are versatile tools for material manufacturing and energy conversion. They are of great commercial interest, but they often entail hazardous impacts on the environment. There is consequently a pronounced need for the further develpment of processes utilising these types of reactions. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Sensitivity-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and High-Speed Fluorescence for In Situ Gas-Phase Diagnostics

    Författare :Haisol Kim; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser; Raman Spectroscopy; Laser-Induced Fluorescence; Combustion; Pyrolysis; Gasification; Gas turbine; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Kim;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, combustion and thermal decomposition processes were studied employing laser-based diagnostic techniques, and the techniques were improved and demonstrated to achieve enhanced detection sensitivity. Raman spectroscopy was employed to study flames under elevated and atmospheric pressures with various fuels, such as methane, hydrogen-enriched methane, DME, ethylene, and ammonia. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Fluorescence Studies of Membranes -- Proteins and Lipids, their Dynamics and Interactions

    Författare :Johan Strömqvist; Jerker Widengren; Thorsten Wohland; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy; cytokinesis; collision theory; protein-protein interactions; lipid dynamics; single-molecule experiment; Biological physics; Biologisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, fluorescence spectroscopy was utilized to probe protein and lipid dynamics and interactions in their native, or close to native, environments. Thereby insight could be gained into the fundamentals of bacterial cell division and the innateimmune system. A particular focus has been devoted to fluorescence fluctuations. LÄS MER
