16. Quantitative methods for diffusion measurements in fluorescence microscopy
Sammanfattning : In this work, statistical methods are developed for mapping mass transport locally based on images collected using a confocal laser scanning microscope. Besides presenting raster image correlation spectroscopy as an established method in fluorescence microscopy, we introduce a single particle tracking method which takes advantage of the raster scanning of the image in a confocal microscope. 17. Non-linear Optical Microscopy and Spectroscopy for Biomedical Studies
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on the application of non-linear optical microscopy and spectroscopy techniques within biomedical research. Non-linear optical microscopy gives the possibility of exciting fluorophores using near infrared light. LÄS MER
18. Quantitative Spectroscopy of Gas Phase Reactions at Elevated Temperatures
Sammanfattning : Gas phase reactions at elevated temperatures are versatile tools for material manufacturing and energy conversion. They are of great commercial interest, but they often entail hazardous impacts on the environment. There is consequently a pronounced need for the further develpment of processes utilising these types of reactions. LÄS MER
19. Sensitivity-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and High-Speed Fluorescence for In Situ Gas-Phase Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : In this work, combustion and thermal decomposition processes were studied employing laser-based diagnostic techniques, and the techniques were improved and demonstrated to achieve enhanced detection sensitivity. Raman spectroscopy was employed to study flames under elevated and atmospheric pressures with various fuels, such as methane, hydrogen-enriched methane, DME, ethylene, and ammonia. LÄS MER
20. Fluorescence Studies of Membranes -- Proteins and Lipids, their Dynamics and Interactions
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, fluorescence spectroscopy was utilized to probe protein and lipid dynamics and interactions in their native, or close to native, environments. Thereby insight could be gained into the fundamentals of bacterial cell division and the innateimmune system. A particular focus has been devoted to fluorescence fluctuations. LÄS MER
