21. Large eddy simulation of combustion using linear-eddy subgrid modeling
Sammanfattning : As emissions regulations are getting stricter and efficiency requirements of internal combustion engines (ICE) are increasing, different concepts to improve combustion are being investigated. For example lean stratified premixed combustion, homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI), use of more exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) to reduce NOx etc. LÄS MER
22. Shape and surface characterization using diffused light
Sammanfattning : Diffuse reflection from various surfaces have been studied using several different methods in order to draw conclusions about the surfaces. First of all the aim was to perform fast and accurate shape measurements of molded steel objects on-line in a production system. LÄS MER
23. Preparation and Characterization of Macroporous Cryostructured Materials
Sammanfattning : Macroporous hydrogels are regarded as interesting materials both within biotechnology and biomedicine due to their properties. These materials can be prepared from a wide range of synthetic or naturally occurring compounds using a number of different techniques for their production. LÄS MER
24. Efficient Memory Utilization in Resource Constrained Real-Time Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents design and run-time techniques for efficient memory utilization in embedded real-time systems. The proposed techniques give developers means to reduce the memory consumption in the systems. LÄS MER
25. Temperature programmed studies of molecular assemblies on gold
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the properties of ultra-thin layers of organic molecules deposited at or adsorbed onto thin films of gold. The two main experimental techniques used in this thesis work are Temperature Programmed Desorption-Infrared Reflection Absorption Spectroscopy (TPD-IRAS), an excellent technique to probe the structure and orientation of molecular layers on metallic substrates, and Temperature Programmed Desorption-Mass Spectroscopy (TPD-MS), a very useful tool to study the energetics of molecular layers and adsorbates on solid surfaces.
