16. Theoretical Studies of Ground and Excited State Reactivity
Sammanfattning : To exemplify how theoretical chemistry can be applied to understand ground and excited state reactivity, four different chemical reactions have been modeled. The ground state chemical reactions are the simplest models in chemistry. To begin, a route to break down halomethanes through reactions with ground state cyano radical has been selected. LÄS MER
17. Resonant States in Negative Ions
Sammanfattning : Resonant states are multiply excited states in atoms and ions that have enough energy to decay by emitting an electron. The ability to emit an electron and the strong electron correlation (which is extra strong in negative ions) makes these states both interesting and challenging from a theoretical point of view. 18. CUnT-SPLICING THOUGHT-FORMS : Promiscuous Play with Quantum Physics and Spirituality
Sammanfattning : CUnT-SPLICING THOUGHT-FORMS — Promiscuous Play with Quantum Physics and Spirituality could perhaps best be described as an invocation of excited states. In more ways than one, this dissertation indulges in a weird threesome between quantum thinking, tantric practices, and feminist theory, with artistic practice at its core. LÄS MER
19. Multiconfigurational perturbation theory
Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis is to analyze a method which describes the electron correlation in atoms and molecules. The method is based on Rayleigh-Schrödinger perturbation theory with a partitioning of the Hamiltonian into a fairly simple zeroth-order operator and a perturbation operator. LÄS MER
20. Ultrafast Dynamics in Ground and Excited States of Porphyrin Molecules
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes inter and intramolecular dynamics in porphyrin molecules. To create a basis for understanding the energy and electron transfer processes in photosynthesis, the ultrafast dynamics of monomeric chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and bacteriochlorophyll a were studied with ultrashort laser pulses.
