    Sammanfattning : Oxygen carriers have an important role as bed materials in both common circulating fluidized bed combustion unit (also known as oxygen-carrier-aided combustion, OCAC) and in various chemical looping processes.     Sammanfattning : Capture and storage of carbon dioxide from combustion will likely be used in the future as a method of reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and thus be part of the overall strategy to stabilize the atmospheric levels of CO2. Chemical-looping combustion is a method of combustion where CO2 is inherently separated from the non-condensable components in the flue gas without the need for an energy intensive air separation unit.     Sammanfattning : Pyrolysis oil derived from fast pyrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass is a promising alternative energy source used to produce renewable biofuels. However, the high reactivity of unsaturated oxygenated compounds in pyrolysis oil results in charring and deactivation of the catalyst under severe hydrotreatment conditions. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The use of a 10 kWth chemical-looping combustor for solid fuels was investigated. The unit was designed, dimensioned and built and two types of fuel were tested: a South African coal and a petroleum coke from Mexico.
