6. Computational modelling of machining - Mesh objective ductile damage modelling
Sammanfattning : AbstractTo strengthen the competitiveness the manufacturing industry strives for a continuousdevelopment of cost efficient manufacturing processes and improved product quality. These research and development issues are addressed by increasing the implementationof simulation tools based on finite element method (FEM). 7. The tectonic evolution of the western part of the Svecofennian orogen, central Sweden : Insight from U/Pb and 40Ar/39Ar geochronology at Forsmark
Sammanfattning : The Forsmark area, in the western part of the Svecofennian orogen, central Sweden, is situated between two major Palaeoproterozoic tectonic domains that show contrasting histories with respect to timing of igneous activity, ductile deformation and metamorphism. At Forsmark, WNW to NW trending, ductile deformation belts anastomose around tectonic lenses with an inferred lower degree of ductile strain. LÄS MER
8. Ground Movements in the Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt of SW Iran Measured by GPS and InSAR Compared to Physical Models
Sammanfattning : This thesis uses geodetic satellite data to measure present-day crustal deformation in the Zagros fold-thrust belt (SW Iran). Geodetic-type measurements are also used in down-scaled models that simulate the surface deformations seen in convergent settings like the Zagros fold-thrust belt. LÄS MER
9. Biomaterial Components Prepared by Titanium Powder Technology
Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this work were twofold: First, to determine if a pressed-powder method could be used to fabricate titanium dental copings, and to line out what problems or benefits this new method would have. Second, to test if high velocity compaction of titanium powder could be used to form biomaterial components such as copings or dental implants. LÄS MER
10. Fluidized Bed Operating Parameters and Eulerian Erosion Models
Sammanfattning : A numerical two-fluid code, Gemini 2D, was adapted to study gas-solid fluidization in arbitrary 2D domains. The code was also used to study fluid dynamic mechanisms of dense particle flow that cause ductile and brittle erosion of solids. LÄS MER
