21. Analysis of Seismic Data Acquired at the Forsmark Site for Storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel, Central Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Forsmark area, the main study area in this thesis, is located about 140 km north of Stockholm, central Sweden. It belongs to the Paleoproterozoic Svecokarelian orogen and contains several major ductile and brittle deformation zones including the Forsmark, Eckarfjärden and Singö zones. LÄS MER
22. Failure of thinwalled structures under impact loading
Sammanfattning : Thinwalled structures are widely used for different applications, e.g. maritime structures, vehicles, off-shore structures, aircraft fuselage, ship panels etc., and due to their applicationthey might be exposed to high strain rate loads as blast loads. LÄS MER
23. Tectonic History and Present-Day Deformation in the Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt
Sammanfattning : This thesis uses various approaches such as observation of satellite images, field investigations, analogue modeling and GPS measurements to constrain deformation of the basement and sedimentary cover of the Zagros fold-thrust belt in time and space.Focal mechanism solutions of most earthquakes indicate that deformation in the Zagros basement is due to shortening and thickening through numerous thrust faults. 24. Modelling of large deformation crack propagation based on the extended finite element method
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the finite element modelling of large deformation crack propagation, based on the extended finite element methodology. The benefit from this approach is the possibility of locally enriching the finite element space, i.e. to add a priori knowledge about the local behaviour of the solution in order to improve accuracy. 25. Late-orogenic, ductile shear zones and protolith ages in the Svecofennian domain, central Sweden
Sammanfattning : The timing of deformation along ductile shear zones in the Svecofennian Domain in central Sweden has generally been constrained by their relationship to magmatic and metamorphic events of known age. A better resolution for the timing of the deformation can be obtained by direct, radiometric dating of minerals which are constituents of the shear fabric. LÄS MER
