26. Efficient GPU-based Image Registration : for Detailed Large-Scale Whole-body Analysis
Sammanfattning : Imaging has become an important aspect of medicine, enabling visualization of internals in a non-invasive manner. The rapid advancement and adoption of imaging techniques have led to a demand for tools able to take advantage of the information that is produced. LÄS MER
27. Measurement of T1 relaxation time in lungs - Preclinical and clinical MRI applications to COPD
Sammanfattning : Monitoring of regional lung function in clinical trials of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) requires alternative endpoints beyond global pulmonary function tests (PFTs), which is the most common approach for diagnosing lung function abnormalities in humans. A promising magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) biomarker of lung disease in humans and animals is the T1 relaxation parameter. LÄS MER
28. Ultra-fast dynamics in atoms and molecules during photoionization: from attoseconds to femtoseconds
Sammanfattning : Treating the correlated behaviour of multiple particles is challenging for both theory and experiment. This thesis reports on a variety of experimental investigations aiming to advance the understanding of fundamental processes in atoms and molecules: double ionization, isomerization and dissociation. 29. Computational Methods and Measurements for Direct and Inverse Scattering of Microwaves
Sammanfattning : Electromagnetic waves are widely used in society today for a multitude of applications. Design of electromagnetic devices and applications requires accurate methods for evaluating performance, which often means modern computational methods. LÄS MER
30. Observation Methods and Imaging Techniques. Assessments of physical exposure in repetitive work with focus on neck and upper extremities
Sammanfattning : Observation methods and imaging techniques - assessments of physical exposure in repetitive work with focus on neck and upper extremities The aim of this thesis was to develop, establish and validate observation methods for exposure assessments in epidemiological studies of repetitive work. A second aim was to increase the quality of input data for biomechanical shoulder models, by reliability and validity studies of Magnetic Reso-nance Imaging (MRI) and Ultrasound Scanning (US). LÄS MER
