  1. 6. Targeted radiotherapy in metastatic neuroendocrine tumours: clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Anna-Karin Elf; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuroendocrine tumour; peptide receptor radionuclide therapy; somatostatin receptor 2 expression; radiosensitization; radioembolization; diffusion weighted imaging;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Neuroendocrine tumours (NET) often present at a metastatic stage, which diminishes the possibility for curative surgery. Peptide receptor radiotherapy (PRRT) with 177Lu-DOTATATE targets somatostatin receptors, which are overexpressed on NET cells. PRRT results in symptom relief and often tumour control of NETs, but rarely cure. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Diffusion MRI: Aspects of Reproducibility and Novel Segmented 2D and 3D Approaches for Higher Resolution and Geometric Fidelity

    Författare :Jens Johansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diffusion-weighted imaging; 3D-DWI; Time-Dependent ADC; DWi; Diffusion Time; Multi-Shot DWI; Echo- Planar Imaging; Geometric Distortion;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is a very useful tool for non-invasive imaging and clinical investigation of the human body. It provides data of the water diffusion process. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Applications of statistical methods in quantitative magnetic resonance imaging

    Författare :Patrik Brynolfsson; Anders Garpebring; Tufve Nyholm; Eirik Malinen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Quantitative imaging; tumor imaging; dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI; diffusion weighted MRI; texture analysis; radiofysik; radiation physics;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetic resonance imaging, MRI, offers a vast range of imaging methods that can be employed in the characterization of tumors. MRI is generally used in a qualitative way, where radiologists interpret the images for e.g. diagnosis, follow ups, or assessment of treatment response. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Finite Element and Neuroimaging Techniques toImprove Decision-Making in Clinical Neuroscience

    Författare :Xiaogai Li; Svein Kleiven; Hans von Holst; Bernhard A Schrefler; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traumatic brain injury; Intracranial Pressure; Brain edema; Gravitational force; Finite Element Model; Poroelastic parameter; Decompressive craniotomy; Image registration; Water content; Strain level; Diffusion Weighted Imaging;

    Sammanfattning : Our brain, perhaps the most sophisticated and mysterious part of the human body, to some extent, determines who we are. However, it’s a vulnerable organ. When subjected to an impact, such as a traffic accident or sport, it may lead to traumatic brain injury (TBI) which can have devastating effects for those who suffer the injury. LÄS MER
