1. A Theoretical Model for Telemedicine : Social and Value Outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa
Sammanfattning : The Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region is faced with limited medical personnel and healthcare services to address the many healthcare problems of the region. Poor health indicators reflect the overall decline in socio-economic development. LÄS MER
2. New Techniques for Estimation of Source Parameters : Applications to Airborne Gravity and Pseudo-Gravity Gradient Tensors
Sammanfattning : Gravity gradient tensor (GGT) data contains the second derivatives of the Earth’s gravitational potential in three orthogonal directions. GGT data can be measured either using land, airborne, marine or space platforms. LÄS MER
3. Adipose Tissue Heterogeneity - Development and Application of Nonlinear Microscopy Methods
Sammanfattning : Although the negative health impacts of obesity have been well documented, the number of overweight or obese patients has and is predicted to continue rising. One of the causal factors of obesity is a constant positive energy balance mainly from excessively high caloric intake from food compared with limited physical activity (caloric expenditure). LÄS MER
4. Macroscopic Modeling of Metabolic Reaction Networks and Dynamic Identification of Elementary Flux Modes by Column Generation
Sammanfattning : In this work an intersection between optimization methods and animal cell culture modeling is considered. We present optimization based methods for analyzing and building models of cell culture; models that could be used when designing the environment cells are cultivated in, i.e., medium. LÄS MER
5. Decision-making in SME internationalization : The role and use of Control in decisions made under the uncertainties of foreign market expansion
Sammanfattning : Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make the backbone of virtually all economies but most of them are only marginally engaged with global markets, particularly those from developing countries. Our ability to advise these firms is currently limited for two major reasons: on the one hand, conventional International Business literature treats the firm as a black box and does not advance in decision-making dynamics that are critical to SMEs' foreign expansion; on the other, recent SME internationalization studies have achieved important progress but seem dependent on the use of Effectuation theory to represent the decisions that guide SME internationalization.
