21. Modelling and Simulation of Gearset Behavior : Effects of Manufacturing Errors and Electrification
Sammanfattning : Due to electrification, new demands are imposed on gears regarding e.g., quality, noise, lubrication, and gear ratio. Therefore, a better understanding of gearset meshing and operation is needed. LÄS MER
22. Juvenile birch in Sweden : Selected stem characteristics for interior and furniture applications
Sammanfattning : In response to the furniture industry’s growing demand for raw material, large volumes of juvenile silver birch and downy birch stems available from pre-commercial thinning operations in Sweden’s forests could offer solutions. However, such stems are not currently used on an industrial scale, and most research conducted on birch stems in general has neither focussed on young trees nor the potential use of the central stem part around the tree pith. 23. Modeling and characterization of novel MOS devices
Sammanfattning : Challenges with integrating high-κ gate dielectric, retrograde Si1-xGexchannel and silicided contacts in future CMOStechnologies are investigated experimentally and theoreticallyin this thesis. ρMOSFETs with either Si or strained Si1-xGex surface-channel and different high-κgate dielectric are examined. 24. Enabling technologies for scalable graphene electronics
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the challenges in scaling up graphene-based technologies, with a focus on the epitaxial growth of graphene (epigraphene) over SiC substrates and the establishment of reliable low-contact resistance electrical contacts. The scalable graphene growth and contact fabrication have enabled the development of three epigraphene-based devices, including large-scale Quantum Hall Arrays, highly sensitive Hall effect magnetometers with minimal noise, and quantum-limited ultraviolet (UV) detectors. 25. Investigations on the Serviceability Limit State of Dowel-Type Timber Connections
Sammanfattning : Dowel-type steel-to-timber connections are commonly used to transfer a large range of loads. Although they are simple to produce and assemble, the load-carrying behavior and the local stress and strain distribution within the connection area are highly complex. LÄS MER
