  1. 1. Hazards of Drug Therapy On the Management of Adverse Drug Reactions: From Signal Detection and Evaluation to Risk Minimization

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Karin Hedenmalm; Marja-Liisa Dahl; Gunnar Alvan; Ellen Vinge; [2005]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacology; adverse drug reactions; spontaneous reporting systems; drug regulation; pharmacovigilance; incidence; Farmakologi; MEDICINE Physiology and pharmacology Pharmacological research; MEDICIN Fysiologi och farmakologi Farmakologisk forskning;

    Sammanfattning : Spontaneous reporting systems (SRSs) for adverse drug reactions (ADRs) have been developed as a result of the thalidomide disaster, whereby thousands of children world-wide were born with birth defects. The Swedish Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory Committee was established in 1965. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Spontaneous reporting of adverse drug reactions Possibilities and limitations

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Farmakologi och klinisk neurovetenskap

    Författare :Martin Bäckström; Tom Mjörndal; Rune Dahlqvist; Folke Sjökvist; [2005]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacology; adverse drug reactions; spontaneous reporting; metamizole; general practitioners; hospital physicians; under-reporting; economical inducement; nurses.; Farmakologi; MEDICINE Physiology and pharmacology Pharmacological research; MEDICIN Fysiologi och farmakologi Farmakologisk forskning; Clinical Pharmacology; klinisk farmakologi;

    Sammanfattning : Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) constitute a major problem in society and in drug therapy. They are a common cause of short-term hospitalization, prolonged hospitalization and death. Spontaneous reporting of ADRs remains one the most effective methods for detecting new and serious drug reactions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Drug interaction surveillance using individual case safety reports

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Johanna Strandell; Staffan Hägg; Niklas Norén; Andrew Bate; Robin E. Ferner; [2011]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adverse drug reactions; adverse drug interaction surveillance; drug interactions; individual case safety reports; postmarketing pharmacovigilance; signal detection; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Drug interactions resulting in adverse drug reactions (ADRs) represent a major health problem both for individuals and society in general. Post-marketing pharmacovigilance reporting databases with compiled individual case safety reports (ICSRs) have been shown to be particularly useful in the detection of novel drug - ADR combinations, though these reports have not been fully used to detect adverse drug interactions. Sammanfattning : Increased possibilities during the last decades for early detection of prostate cancer have sparked research on preventable or treatable risk factors and on improvements in therapy. Treatments of the disease still entail significant side effects potentially affecting men during the rest of their lives. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) constitute a significant health problem with consequences for the patient as well as for society. Suspected ADRs have been reported to occur in about 2-14% of hospitalised patients. In about 5% of deceased hospitalised patients suspected ADRs may have caused or contributed to the fatal outcome.
