  1. 56. Role of ß-catenin and Leukotriene in Colon Cancer Progression

    Författare :Tavga Salim; Malmö Cellpatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LTD4; β-catenin; E-cadherin; GSK-3β; inflammation; colorectal cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide. Deregulation of Wnt/β-catenin signalling pathway is an early hallmark of colon cancer. Were nuclear accumulation of β-catenin is a marker of activated canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling. One of the risk factors for development of colon cancer is inflammatory bowel disease. LÄS MER

  2. 57. Identifying Essential Deubiquitinase Interactions and Targeting Protein Ubiquitination in Cancer

    Författare :Johannes Gubat; Padraig D´arcy; Stig Linder; Maria Turkina; Per Lindahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer; Deubiquitinase; b-AP15; Ubiquitin-proteasome system;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally and is one of the most pressing health issues today. While significant advances have been made in cancer treatment, drug resistance and toxicity remain formidable obstacles to successful therapy. Thus, there is a need to find novel targets that pave the way for new cancer therapeutics. LÄS MER

  3. 58. Colon Cancer, Prognosis After Surgery : What Are the Risks of Recurrent Disease, and How Do We Find Those at Risk?

    Författare :Erik Osterman; Tobias Sjöblom; Bengt Glimelius; Lars Karlsson; Mats Hellström; Ismail Gögenur; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; colon cancer; recurrence risk; prediction model; biomarkers; Oncology; Onkologi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Colon cancer is the fourth most common cancer worldwide with approximately 1.2 million yearly cases. Developments in the standard of care have improved prognosis. In Paper I the recurrence risk was investigated in a national material consisting of 14,325 colon cancer patients. LÄS MER

  4. 59. Molecular and Biological Characteristics of Stroma and Tumor Cells in Colorectal Cancer

    Författare :Jingfang Gao; Xiao-Feng Sun; Richard Palmqvist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Carcinogenesis; genetic alterations; colorectal cancer CRC ; cysteine-histidine rich protein PINCH ; Inflammatory infiltration; Angiogenesis; lymphangiogenesis; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Carcinogenesis is a progressive process involving multiple genetic alterations in tumor cells and complex interactions in the tumor-host microenvironment. To better understand the contribution of molecular alterations in tumor cells and stromal variables to the development of colorectal cancer (CRC) and identify prognostic factors, in this study we examined the clinicopathological and biological significance of stromal variables, including particularly interesting new cysteine-histidine rich protein (PINCH), inflammatory infiltration, angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, as well as hRAD50/hMRE11/hNBS1 proteins and hRAD50 mutation in tumor cell in CRC. 5. 60. Circulating and genetic factors in colorectal cancer : Potential factors for establishing prognosis?

    Författare :Renate Slind Olsen; Dick Wågsäter; Roland Andersson; Anita Sjölander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is defined as a cancer appearing in the colon or in the rectum. In Sweden, ~ 6300 individuals were diagnosed with the disease in 2014 and ~ 2550 individuals diagnosed with CRC die each year due to their cancer. LÄS MER
