21. The HCCI Engine – High Load Performance and Control Aspects
Sammanfattning : Current combustion engines provide excellent performance for vehicle propulsion and power generation. However, recent demands from society ask for higher efficiencies and lower emissions. These requirements are hard to meet with current technology and call for new solutions. LÄS MER
22. Physicochemical properties and atmospheric ageing of soot - investigated though aerosol mass spectrometry
Sammanfattning : Aerosol particles contribute significantly to the global burden of disease, and remain the main source of uncertainty in assessments of human-induced climate change. The microphysical characterization of particles is necessary to understand the roles they play in the detrimental effects of air pollution on human health, and in the energy budget of our planet. 23. Airway epithelial shedding: Morphological and functional aspects in vivo
Sammanfattning : Epithelial damage may contribute to the pathology in airway diseases such as asthma and rhinitis. However, the distribution of epithelial shedding in inflammatory airway diseases and, particularly, the ensuing repair processes are largely unknown. LÄS MER
24. Laser-Induced Incandescence for Soot Diagnostics: Theoretical Investigation and Experimental Development
Sammanfattning : Laser-induced incandescence, LII, is a laser-diagnostic technique that can be used to measure the volume fraction and the sizes of soot particles suspended in a gas, such as within a combustion process or in its exhausts. The technique is based on the facts that the time-decay of the radiation from laser-heated soot particles is directly related to the particle size in the probed volume, and that the time-integrated radiation is related to the soot volume fraction. 25. Phosphor Thermometry on Surfaces - A Study of its Methodology and its Practical Applications
Sammanfattning : Phosphor Thermometry is a term describing an optical measurement technique for remote temperature sensing. Its working principle is based on the temperature-sensitive emission characteristics of certain ceramic substances termed thermographic phosphors. LÄS MER
