   Sammanfattning : Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease with unknown origin. This study investigates the combined use of surgery and immuno modulation in Crohn’s disease. One important reason is the development of a narrowing process known as intimal hyperplasia (IH). The cells forming IH resemble smooth muscle cells (SMCs) from the media of the arterial wall.    Sammanfattning : Survival among patients with stage IV rectal cancer is poor and surgical treatment for this disease is associated with morbidities such as small bowel obstruction, complications with a diverting loop ileostomy, and functional bowel disturbances.
