  1. 1. Perception Aware Guidance Framework for Micro Aerial Vehicles

    Författare :Christoforos Kanellakis; George Nikolakopoulos; Danica Kragic; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; perception driven control for MAVs; aerial inspection; vision based guidance for aerial manipulation; robots in low-light environments; Reglerteknik; Control Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs) are platforms that have received significant research resources within robotics community, since they are characterized by simple mechanical design and versatile movement. These platforms possess capabilities that are suitable for complex task execution, in situations which are impossible or dangerous for the human operator to perform, as well as to reduce the operating costs and increase the overall efficiency of the operation. 2. 2. Temporal and spatial variability of carbon cycling in a subarctic landscape

    Författare :Torbjörn Johansson; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geologi; physical geography; Geology; Växtekologi; Plant ecology; Permafrost; Herbivory; Subarctic; Aerial photography; Vegetation change; Carbon balance; fysisk geografi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the carbon balance in a subarctic landscape at different temporal and spatial scales. Its focus is mainly on the peatland and mountain birch forest (Betula pubescens ssp. czerepanovii) ecosystems within the Abisko area in northernmost Sweden. This is an area with a temperature close to the 0 OC mean annual isotherm. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Remote Sensing of Forest Decline in the Czech Republic

    Författare :Jonas Ardö; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Czech Republic; neural networks; sulphur dioxide; air pollution; Norway spruce; deforestation; forest decline; GIS; spectral characteristics; Remote sensing; Landsat; Ore Mountains; Geology; physical geography; Geologi; fysisk geografi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the localisation and quantification of deforestation and forest damage in Norway spruce forests in northern Czech Republic using Landsat data. Severe defoliation increases the spectral reflectance in all wavelength bands, especially in the mid infrared region. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Att skapa plats och göra rum : Landskapsperspektiv på det historiska värdets betydelse och funktion i svensk planering och miljövård

    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; conservation; critical realism; discourse; heritage; landscape; ontology; planning; sustainability; time geography;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on an analysis of how historically motivated values are treated in contemporary planning- and conservation practices. The aim is to discuss the premises of a sustainable landscape development regarding historical landscapes and heritage. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Remote Sensing and Gis for Groundwater Assessment in Hard Rock Areas. Applications to Water Well Siting in Ghana and Botswana

    Författare :Per Sander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; probabilistic approach; GIS; remote sensing; Ghana; hard rock; Botswana; groundwater assessment; lineaments;

    Sammanfattning : Different types of remote sensing data have been evaluated in this thesis with respect to their potential use in groundwater assessment in hard rock areas. The primary objectives of the study have been (1) to evaluate the interpretation of groundwater indicators from high resolution satellite images and aerial photography and (2) to investigate how remote sensing interpretations subsequently can be integrated with other pertinent data, as a decision support in water well siting under difficult hydrogeological conditions.
