  1. 16. Modelling and Simulation of Train-Track Interaction including Wear Prediction

    Författare :Clas Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; full-scale measurements; rail corrugation; substructuring; wheel-rail contact; multibody dynamics; dynamic train-track interaction; three-dimensional motion;

    Sammanfattning : Many problems in railway traffic arise as a result of the dynamic interaction between rolling trains and tracks. The problems include both instantaneous effects due to induced vibrations of track and vehicle, and more long-term processes of a detrimental nature. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Towards simulation-based optimisation of materials in railway crossings

    Författare :Rostyslav Skrypnyk; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wheel-rail contact mechanics; plasticity; metamodel; wear; S C; Dynamics vehicle-track interaction; switches crossings; FEM;

    Sammanfattning : Railway crossings are subjected to an intense load environment caused by the rail discontinuities needed to accommodate the passage of wheel flanges in intersecting traffic directions. This gives rise to high costs associated with repair and maintenance. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Long-term rail damage evolution in railway crossings

    Författare :Rostyslav Skrypnyk; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wear; S C; plasticity; wheel-rail contact mechanics; switches crossings; FEM; metamodel; Dynamic vehicle-track interaction;

    Sammanfattning : To accommodate the passage of wheels in intersecting traffic routes, fixed railway crossings have discontinuous rails leading to an intense load environment due to repeated wheel-rail impacts. This gives rise to high costs associated with repair and maintenance of the rails in the crossing. 4. 19. Engineering model for curve squeal formulated in the time domain

    Författare :Ivan Zenzerovic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tangential point-contact model; time domain; frictional instability; Curve squeal; rolling contact; non- Hertzian contact;

    Sammanfattning : Curve squeal is a type of railway noise that may arise when a railway vehicle negotiates a relatively tight curve. Squeal is common in curves of a radius lower than 200 meters. A single frequency dominates the radiated sound, which makes squeal a very tonal noise. LÄS MER

  5. 20. On wear in rolling/sliding contacts

    Författare :Rickard Nilsson; Ulf Olofsson; I. Sherrington; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Technology; wear; rolling; sliding; contact; environment; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to increase the understanding of wear in rolling/sliding contacts such as the wheel-rail contact for railroads and the roller-washer contact for roller bearings. The Stockholm commuter train network has been the subject of papers A and B in this thesis in which the wear and surface cracks on rails has been observed for a period of three years. LÄS MER
