41. Towards Emotion inspired Computational Intelligence (EiCI)
Sammanfattning : One of the main challenges in the computational intelligence (CI) community is to develop nature-inspired algorithms that can efficiently solve real-world problems such as the prediction of space weather phenomena. An early example in this context is taking inspiration from the biological neurons in the mammal’s nervous system and developing an artificial neuron. LÄS MER
42. Growth and Characterization of ZrB2 Thin Films
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, growth of ZrB2 thin films by direct current magnetron sputtering is investigatedusing a high vacuum industrial scale deposition system and an ultra-high vacuum laboratory scalesystem. The films were grown from ZrB2 compound targets at temperatures ranging from ambient (without external heating) to 900 °C and with substrate biases from -20 to -120 V. LÄS MER
43. A Bayesian approach to retrospective detection of change-points in road surface measurements
Sammanfattning : First-order autoregressive processes are analysed for sudden changes in parameter value. In its most general form, a multivariate vector of measurements is allowed, and no prior knowledge about the involved parameters is required. LÄS MER
44. Relatedness through kinship : the importance of family co-occurrence for firm performance
Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis is to analyse the effects of family co-occurrence and past familial relationships (inherited entrepreneurial abilities) on firm performance. This aim is motivated by the contemporary arguments that social relations (e.g. family ties) are important in the analysis of today’s space economy. LÄS MER
45. Modulation of neutrophil extracellular trap formation in health and disease
Sammanfattning : The critical prompt innate immune response is highly built upon the influx of neutrophils from the blood stream to the site of infection. In the battlefield, neutrophils sense pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) through their pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) to launch a number of responses with the goal to defeat the invading pathogen.
