  1. 6. Mesoporous Silica Formed with Triblock Copolymers

    Författare :Katarina Flodström; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; 1H NMR; TEM; SAXS; in situ; mechanism of formation; cubic Ia3d; cubic Im3m; Mesoporous; synthesis; Pluronic; SBA-16; SBA-15; hexagonal p6mm; synchrotron SAXS; Physical chemistry; amphiphilic polymers; silica;

    Sammanfattning : The formation of highly ordered mesoporous silica materials, using PEO-PPO-PEO amphiphilic triblock copolymers (so-called Pluronics) as structure directing agents, has been studied. The materials are formed through the addition of a silica source to a polymer solution of low concentration (2.5 wt ) under acidic conditions. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Macromolecular synthesis of functional degradable aliphatic polyesters and porous scaffold design

    Författare :Sofia Målberg; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Anders Södergård; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; functional polyesters; condensation polymerization; L-lactide; ε-caprolactone; triblock copolymer; mechanical properties; porous scaffolds; tissue engineering; ring-opening polymerization; Bi III acetate; creatinine; stannous 2-ethylhexanoate; enzyme; degradation products; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : There is an increasing demand for new materials in biomedical applications with material properties that are highly specific for each application area. The search for new materials requires the creation of materials with suitable mechanical properties, functionalities, three-dimensional structures and a controlled degradation profile. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Formation of Block Copolymer and Surfactant Vesicles

    Författare :Karin Bryskhe; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymerteknik; Fysikalisk kemi; biopolymers; Polymer technology; nanoparticles; Lipid; triblock copolymer; surfactants; Nonionic; Vesicles; Formation; Physical chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis temperature induced vesicle formation in both a block copolymer system and nonionic surfactant system have been investigated. The block copolymer is a triblock copolymer of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(propylene oxide) (PPO), PEO-PPO-PEO, with the average molecular composition of EO5PO68EO5 and the commercial trade name Pluronic L121 (papers I, II). 4. 9. Scattering Studies of Macromolecules in Solution

    Författare :David Löf; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bacteriophage lambda; Dynamic Light Scattering; Time-Resolved; Mixed Micelles; Nonionic Surfactant; Triblock Copolymer; Calorimetry; SLS; Rheology; DLS; SAXS;

    Sammanfattning : The sphere-to-rod transition of nonionic micelles of the PEO-PPO-PEO triblock copolymer P123 and the surfactant C12EO6 was studied using dynamic and static light scattering, small angel X-ray scattering, rheology and calorimetry. The transition temperature was dependent of the C12EO6/P123 molar ratio, which means that a larger content of C12EO6 yields a higher transition temperature. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Controlled Degradation of Polyester-Ethers Revealed by Mass Spectrometry Techniques

    Författare :Anders Höglund; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Jukka Seppälä; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Degradation products; biocompatibility; -caprolactone; 1; 5-dioxepan-2-one; 6-hydroxyhexanoic acid; 3- 2-hydroxyethoxy propanoic acid; oligomers; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The use of degradable biomedical materials in e.g. tissue engineering and controlled drug delivery has changed medical science during recent decades. The key question is to adapt the material with respect to mechanical properties, surface characteristics, and degradation profile to suit its intended application. LÄS MER
