  1. 1. Mesoporous Silica Formed with Triblock Copolymers

    Författare :Katarina Flodström; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; 1H NMR; TEM; SAXS; in situ; mechanism of formation; cubic Ia3d; cubic Im3m; Mesoporous; synthesis; Pluronic; SBA-16; SBA-15; hexagonal p6mm; synchrotron SAXS; Physical chemistry; amphiphilic polymers; silica;

    Sammanfattning : The formation of highly ordered mesoporous silica materials, using PEO-PPO-PEO amphiphilic triblock copolymers (so-called Pluronics) as structure directing agents, has been studied. The materials are formed through the addition of a silica source to a polymer solution of low concentration (2.5 wt ) under acidic conditions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Synthesis of Mesoporous Silica and their Use as Templates for Metal and Metal Oxide Nanoparticles

    Författare :Mohamed A. Ballem; Magnus Odén; José M. Córdoba; Fredrik Söderlind; Lennart Bergström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the synthesis and characterization of two types of mesoporous silica, SBA-15 silica with two-dimensional hexagonal arrangement, and SBA-16 silica with three-dimensional cubic arrangement. The obtained mesoporous materials were then used as hard templates for synthesizing of different types of nanostructures. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Towards a responsive functional material: Modification of porosity and grafting of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) in mesoporous silica SBA-15

    Författare :Nina Reichhardt; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mesoporous silica; SBA-15; intrawall pores; PNIPAAM; lower critical solution temperature; water sorption calorimetry; gas sorption;

    Sammanfattning : Mesoporous silica materials, such as SBA-15, have potential as biocompatible carriers for pharmaceutical applications as well as mini-reactors in e.g. catalysis. This potential arises from their well-defined porous structure on the nanometre scale accompanied by a high internal surface area (800 - 1000 m2/g). LÄS MER
