1. Diabetic neuropathy clinical and experimental studies
Sammanfattning : A classification of impaired thermal sensibility is proposed, reflecting the severity of diabetic polyneuropathy in terms of its regional extension. The classification may be a useful tool in cross-sectional and long-term studies of patients with diabetes mellitus. LÄS MER
2. Pedicled and free TRAM flaps in breast reconstructions : a comparative study
Sammanfattning : The transverse rectus abdominis musculocutaneous (TRAM) flap is frequently used when autologous tissue is desired for breast reconstruction, and it can be transferred pedicled or free. The pedicled TRAM flap is elevated as a lower transverse abdominal flap with the rectus abdominis muscle attached in the epigastric area, by which means the deep superior epigastric vessels nourish the flap. 3. Neuropathic Pain; Quality of Life, Sensory Assessments and Pharmacological Treatments
Sammanfattning : Neuropathic pain of central and peripheral origin presents a substantial clinical problem as it is often resistant to pharmacological treatment. The health related quality of life of 126 patients with peripheral neuropathic pain was studied, to provide a cross sectional description from this point of view. 4. Stresses in high performance concrete due to temperature and moisture variations at early ages
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents results from laboratory tests and numerical analyses of stress states in concrete structures arising from volume changes due to temperature and shrinkage during hydration. The laboratory tests presented here deal with: the determination of heat transfer coefficients for cooling pipes measurements of self-desiccation and shrinkage under sealed conditions deformation measurements under temperature and moisture changes and measurements of stress development during hardening for a fully restrained structural member. 5. Idiopathic scoliosis : radiographic, neurophysiologic and psychologic aspects
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study brace treatment outcome, the brace effect on electromyographic muscle responses and self image, possible occurrence of somatosensory dysfunction and the descriptive power of surface topography contra radiography, in idiopathic scoliosis. There were 64 patients in a retrospective 4. LÄS MER
