11. Iron Losses in Electrical Machines - Influence of Material Properties, Manufacturing Processes, and Inverter Operation
Sammanfattning : As the major electricity consumer, electrical machines play a key role for global energy savings. Machine manufacturers put considerable efforts into the development of more efficient electrical machines for loss reduction and higher power density achievements. LÄS MER
12. Microstructure and mechanical properties of a 5 wt.% Cr cold work tool steel : Influence of heat treatment procedure
Sammanfattning : The demand for Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) in the automotive industry is increasing day by day. It is mainly motivated by the fact that AHSS can be used as thin sheets while having high strengths. LÄS MER
13. Design and application of experimental methods for steel sheet shearing
Sammanfattning : Shearing is the process where sheet metal is mechanically cut between two tools. Various shearing technologies are commonly used in the sheet metal industry, for example, in cut to length lines, slitting lines, end cropping etc. LÄS MER
14. Modelling of Inelastic Effects in Metal Sheets and Identification of Material Parameters
Sammanfattning : The continuum modelling of the macroscopic behaviour of metallic sheets and the identification of corresponding material parameters for models selected are dealt with in the thesis. Thermodynamics with internal variables provides a framework for the derivation of the models. LÄS MER
15. Stainless Steel in Biological Environments – Relation between Material Characteristics, Surface Chemistry and Toxicity
Sammanfattning : Triggered by the regulatory need of the industry to demonstrate safe use of their alloy products from an environmental and health perspective, and by the significant lack of metal release data and its correlation to material and surface characteristics for iron- and chromium-based alloys, a highly interdisciplinary in-depth research effort was undertaken to assess the relation between material/surface characteristics and toxicity with main emphasis on stainless steel alloys. This thesis focuses predominantly on studies made on AISI 316L both as massive sheet and as powder particles, but includes also results for other stainless steel grades and reference metals and metal oxides.
