  1. 1. Cross-regulation between TGFβ/BMP Signalling and the metabolic LKB1 pathway

    Författare :Erna Raja; Aristidis Moustakas; Tomi Mäkelä; Uppsala University Faculty of Medicine Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cell signalling; TGFbeta; BMP; LKB1; AMPK; Molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Cell signalling determines physiological responses to many cellular stimuli and environmental changes. The transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβ)/bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signalling pathways begin by binding of ligand to the heterodimeric receptor complex, followed by activation of Smads that translocate to the nucleus to regulate transcription of genes that further mediate cellular physiology. 2. 2. Mechanisms and genes controlling the signalling network for biotic and abiotic stress defences in Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heyhn : Functional cross-talk between photo-produced reactive oxygen species, photosynthesis and plant disease defence responses

    Författare :Christine Chi-Chen Chang; Stanislaw Karpinski; Christine Foyer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; reactive oxygen species; Arabidopsis thaliana; signalling work; biotic stress; abiotic stress; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Excess excitation energy, mechanical injury and defence against pathogens, each trigger rapid production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in Arabidopsis thaliana leaves. ROS, such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), are required for the induction of systemic acquired acclimation and may lead to redox changes in photosynthetic electron transport (PET). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Signalling pathways controlling bacterial adaptation

    Författare :Kristina Jonas; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The conversion of environmental signals into cellular responses is a critically important process that occurs in all organisms. The ability to process information depends, in general, on complex signal transduction and regulatory networks that control genes required to cope with certain environmental conditions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Signalling between plants and microorganisms

    Författare :Ulrika Troedsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; symbiosis; Chitinase; rhizobium; mycorrhiza; plant; glucanase; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Plants and microbes can interact in several ways. Plants can be attacked by different types of pathogens like fungi, virus and bacteria, but can also form symbioses with fungi and bacteria. Certain common antimicrobial proteins are produced by the plants regardless of the type of microbial interaction with the plant. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Aspects of proteinase-activated receptor-2: A sensor of enzymatic activity at the cell surface

    Författare :Anna-Karin Alm; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsychology; Neurology; endometrium.; coagulation; signalling; proteinase; G-protein; cell; receptor; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Information about extracellular proteolytic activity is transduced to the cell by a transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor subfamily. These receptors are activated by proteolytic cleavage in the extracellular amino-terminal domain and are thus termed proteinase-activated receptors (PARs). LÄS MER
