  2. 2. Studies on HIV-1 core assembly

    Författare :Samir Abdurahman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :HIV-1; mutation; capsid; p24; capsid assembly; alpha-HGA; antiviral;

    Sammanfattning : The main objective of this thesis was to define the roles of Gag (p55), in particular, the capsid (CA, p24) protein in human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) particle assembly. More specifically, i) to determine the relative contribution of some specific residues and/or sequences in HIV-1 CA core assembly and virus release, ii) to characterize the importance of two conserved residues with quite opposing intra-molecular contacts with other CA residues in capsid assembly, iii) to define the role and significance of a specific amino acid involved in formation of a conserved β-hairpin structure in HIV-1 capsid assembly, and iv) to define the active antiviral metabolite of an antiviral tripeptide amide previously found to affect HIV-1 capsid assembly and infectivity. 4. 4. Supramolecular chemistry based on redox-active components and cucurbit[n]urils

    Författare :Samir Andersson; Licheng Professor; Werner Nau; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cucurbit[n]uril; redox-active; viologen; light-driven; water oxidation; molecular motor; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the host-guest chemistry between Cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) and CB[8] and a series of guests including bispyridinium cations, phenols and  napthalenes. These guests are bound to ruthenium polypyridine complexes or ruthenium based water oxidation catalysts (WOCs). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of internet-based CBT for social anxiety disorder

    Författare :Samir El Alaoui; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is a common mental disorder, causing considerable distress and functional disability for affected individuals and places a significant economic burden on society. However, few receive treatment due to several barriers such as low treatment availability, stigma and fear. LÄS MER
