  1. 6. Small Sanitation Systems – Treatment Efficiency, Sustainability and Implementation

    Författare :Brenda Vidal; Annelie Hedström; Inga Herrmann; Günther Langergraber; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sustainable sanitation; sand filter; phosphorus filter; package plant; cold climate; treatment process; system analysis; sustainability indicators; decentralization; centralization; historical development; on-site; resource recovery; source separation; source-separating systems; blackwater; urine; greywater; hållbarthetsanalys; små avlopp system; enskilda avlopp; markbädd; minireningsverk; kallt klimat; systemanalys; fosforfälla; fosforfilter; indikator; urin sortering; svartvatten; toalettvatten; gråvatten; BDT; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Current socio-technical wastewater system paradigms are being challenged by emerging global issues such as climate change, environmental degradation and scarcity of resources. Thus, exploration of innovative new urban water management solutions is required that enable closure of resource loops. LÄS MER

  2. 7. On the influence of imperfections on microstructure and properties of recycled Al-Si casting alloys

    Författare :Anton Bjurenstedt; Salem Seifeddine; Anders E.W. Jarfors; Arne Dahle; Johan Moverare; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Imperfections; Recycled Al-Si alloys; Fe-rich intermetallics; Melt quality; Fractography; Defekter; Återvunna Al-Si legeringar; Fe-rika intermetaller; Smältakvalité; Fraktografi;

    Sammanfattning : There are great energy savings to be made by recycling aluminium; as little as 5% of the energy needed for primary aluminium production may be required. Striving to produce high quality aluminium castings requires knowledge of microstructural imperfections, which is extra important when casting recycled aluminium that generally contains higher levels of imperfections compared to primary aluminium. 3. 8. On-site sanitation systems - An integrated assessment of treatment efficiency and sustainability

    Författare :Brenda Vidal; Annelie Hedström; Inga Herrmann; Arve Heistad; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; small-scale; sand filter; phosphorus filter; package plant; blackwater; greywater; urine diversion; multi-criteria; composite sample; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Small on-site sanitation systems for wastewater collection and treatment are prevalent in suburban and rural areas in many countries. However, these systems often underperform, causing potential impact to the receiving waters and increasing the risks to public health, thus hindering the overall sustainability of the systems. 4. 9. Valorization of Low Value Organic Waste by the use of Black Soldier Fly Larvae – Bioconversion of Sludge from the Pulp and Paper Industry

    Författare :Robert Norgren; Anders Jonsson; Olof Björkqvist; William Hogland; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sustainable sludge management; bioconversion; insect protein;

    Sammanfattning : The current economic system is not sustainable, as it is based on a linear flow of resources from extraction, production, use and disposal. The linear flow of resources must be replaced with a circular flow where waste is seen as a resource. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Solid waste and the water enviroment in the new European Union perspective

    Författare :Marcia Marques; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Processes that occur during storageand final disposal ofsolid waste were studied, with emphasis on physical andchemical aspects and their effects on the water environment,within the New European Union perspective for landfilling(Council Directive 1999/31/EC, 1999).In the new scenario, landfilling is largely restricted;waste treatments such as incineration, composting, recycling,storage and transportation of materials are intensified.
