  1. 1. Impulse noise and brain injury. An experimental study in rats

    Författare :Annette Säljö Moberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :apoptosis; astrocytes; brain injury; blast; c-Fos; c-Jun; c-Myc; impulse noise; ; neurons; neurofilament; NSE; rat and S-100;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract. Pressure waves, experienced as impulse noise, affect many body organs, although most attention has been paid to the inner ear. Impulse noise is produced by e.g. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Repair and Reconstruction of Peripheral Nerve Injuries. Treatment with G-CSF and Stromal Vascular Fraction

    Författare :Hanna Frost; Malmö Handkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; peripheral nerve injuries; nerve regeneration; reconstructive surgical procedures; diabetes mellitus; rat sciatic nerve; granulocyte colony-stimulating factor; stromal vascular fraction; electrospinning; rats; Schwann cells;

    Sammanfattning : While surgery is a cornerstone in treatment of peripheral nerve injuries, it is not a comprehensive approach, and outcome is unsatisfactory, especially sensory function. The present aim was to translate recent findings about stem- and progenitor cells to improve regenerative outcome, where the cells have to be autologous, available within the same surgical procedure, and minimally manipulated. 3. 3. On the influence of glia on neurite outgrowth from dopamine neurons in the nigrostriatal system

    Författare :Malin Saga Johansson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Dopamine; glia; astrocytes; olfactory ensheathing cells; development; ni-grostriatal; mesencephalon; Parkinson s disease; 6-hydroxydopamine;

    Sammanfattning : Interactions between glial cells and neurons are important during fetal development, in the maintenance of the normal functions in tile central nervous system (CNS), arid in response to injuries or diseases. Some of die motor disturbances in Parkinson's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder where one of the hallmarks is degeneration of dopamine (DA) neurons and concomitant depletion of DA in striatum, can be alleviated by intrastriatal grafting of embryonic DA tissue.
