  1. 1. CT Guided Ablation of T1 Renal Tumors

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Vanessa Acosta Ruiz; Anders Magnusson; Mikael Hellström; [2019]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Renal tumor; Ablation; Radiofrequency ablation; Microwave ablation; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The widespread use of medical imaging contributes to the increased detection of incidentally detected small renal tumors, a majority which are often indolent masses found in elderly patients with preexisting chronic kidney disease. In Sweden, partial nephrectomy with minimal invasive surgical approach is the current standard for removing these tumors, although another option is percutaneous image-guided tumor ablation that allows treatment of elderly patients with comorbidities for who surgery is a risk. 2. 2. Atrial fibrillation endoscopic ablation and postoperative studies

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro University

    Författare :Espen Fengsrud; Anders Ahlsson; Anders Englund; Alexander Wahba; [2017]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; Bypass surgery; Cerebral ischemia; Follow-up studies; Survival; Anticoagulation; Ablation; Endoscopy; Randomized trial; Implantable loop recorder;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with an increased risk of stroke, heart failure and cardiovascular death. Initial treatment focuses on rhythm or rate control and anticoagulation after risk assessment. Catheter abla-tion (CA) is an option in highly symptomatic patients but is less effective in long-standing persistent AF(LSPAF). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation effects on rhythm, symptoms and health-related quality of life

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro University

    Författare :Anna Björkenheim; Dritan Poçi; Deirdre Lane; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; catheter ablation; symptoms; quality of life;

    Sammanfattning : Background: AF ablation is an increasingly used treatment in patients with AF to improve patient-reported outcomes (PROs). Atrioventricular junction ablation (AVJA) is a palliative treatment option in therapy refractory AF that improves PROs but renders the patient pacemaker dependent. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Surgical ablation for the treatment of atrial fibrillation in different patient populations A study of clinical outcomes including rhythm, quality of life, atrial function and safety

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Louise Bagge; Carina Blomström-Lundqvist; Mårten Rosenqvist; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; surgical ablation; quality of life; vagal denervation; ganglionated plexi; left atrial function; epicardial; minimally invasive; left atrial ablation; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) have markedly reduced quality of life (QoL) and catheter ablation has become a useful tool in the rhythm control therapy. However, because of the poor outcome for patients with persistent AF, new surgical ablation strategies for rhythm control are emerging. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Aspects of Intraoperative Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Birgitta Johansson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2009]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atrial fibrillation; intraoperative ablation; radiofrequency; cryo; epicardial; quality of life; atrial function; predictors of rhythm;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Increasing knowledge about mechanisms that trigger and maintain atrial fibrillation (AF) has influenced the possibilities for treatment and even cure of AF. The surgical Cox Maze III procedure is still the gold standard for the curative treatment of AF. LÄS MER
