  1. 11. Repair or replace? Guidance from indicators and life cycle assessment on circular economy strategies for energy-using products

    Författare :Adeline Jerome; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; use extension; indicator; environmental assessment; life cycle assessment; circular economy;

    Sammanfattning : Various circular economy (CE) strategies, such as use extension with repair or reuse, have been suggested as a means for addressing the increasing resource and environmental footprint of society. To identify effective CE strategies, companies or policy makers seek guidance from the evaluation of resource use and environmental impact of alternatives that introduce different CE strategies to product systems. 2. 12. Short-Pulse Photofragmentation and Fluorescence-based Diagnostics - Development and Applications

    Författare :Malin Jonsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydroxyl radical OH ; Short-pulse excitation; Photofragmentation; Combustion diagnostics; Laser-induced fluorescence; Hydrogen peroxides; Collisional quenching; Fysicumarkivet A:2015:Jonsson;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in the thesis covers the use of laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and photofragmentation laser-induced fluorescence (PFLIF) with short laser pulses to determine species concentrations in different combustion environments. To attain quantitative species concentrations using LIF investigations of the influence of collisional quenching on the fluorescence signal strength is of vital importance, which can be done by measuring the fluorescence lifetime. 3. 13. Advances in the Application and Understanding of the CHALMEX FS-13 Process

    Författare :Thea Lyseid Authen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Advanced recycling; Solvent Extraction; FS-13; CHALMEX;

    Sammanfattning : During the last year, the European demand for electricity has increased and at the same time, the production of planned electricity generation has decreased due to unexpected weather conditions and war. Combined with a limited capability to store energy, low-carbon energy producers such as nuclear power is getting renewed attention in many countries. LÄS MER

  4. 14. An Ultrafast Spectroscopic and Quantum-Chemical Study of the Photochemistry of Bilirubin : Initial Processes in the Phototherapy for Neonatal Jaundice

    Författare :Burkhard Zietz; Tomas Gillbro; Jouko Korppi-Tommola; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bilirubin; Phototherapy; Neonatal Jaundice; Femtosecond Spectroscopy; CASSCF; TD-DFT; Isomerisation Dynamics; Biophysical chemistry; Biofysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Bilirubin is a degradation product of haem, which is constantly formed in allmammals. Increased levels of bilirubin in humans lead to jaundice, a conditionthat is very common during the first days after birth. This neonataljaundice can routinely be treated by phototherapy without any serious sideeffects. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Towards empirically grounded guidance for resource efficiency: Applying, developing and synthesising environmental assessments

    Författare :Daniel Böckin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Circular Business Models; guidelines; business models; synthesis; Life Cycle Assessment; decoupling; resource efficiency; 3D-printing; Circular Economy; waste hierarchy;

    Sammanfattning : Numerous solutions have been proposed to mitigate environmental damage, including resource efficiency and the vision of circular economy. Suggested solutions are often formulated as guidelines and heuristics like in the EU waste hierarchy, so-called R-hierarchies for resource efficiency and various guidelines for circular business models.
