  1. 1. Vehicle-Pavement Interaction

    Författare :Parisa Khavassefat; Björn Birgisson; Denis Jelagin; David Cebon; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite element; Viscoelasticity; Moving load; Dynamic axle loads; Road roughness; Flexible pavement; Stochastic;

    Sammanfattning : Several aspects of vehicle-pavement interaction have been studied and discussed in this thesis. Initially the pavement response is studied through a quasi-static and a dynamic computationally efficient framework under moving traffic loads. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Frost modelling and pavement temperatures : summer pavement temperaures and frost modelling

    Författare :Åke Hermansson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Three papers form the present thesis. In paper I a numerical model for calculation of surface temperatures on a highway is presented. The model takes all relevant factors into consideration, i.e. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Mechanistic-Empirical  (M-E)  pavement  design  procedures  are  composed  of  a  reliable  response model to estimate the state of stress in the pavement and distress models in order to predict the different types of pavement distresses due to the prevailing traffic and environmental conditions. One of the main objectives of this study was to develop a response model based on multilayer elastic  theory   (MLET)  with  improved  computational  performance  by   optimizing  the   time consuming parts of the MLET processes. Sammanfattning : The roads in our society are in a state of constant degradation. The reasons for this are many, and therefore constructed to have a certain lifetime before being reconstructed. To minimize the cost of maintaining the important transport road network high quality prediction models are needed. LÄS MER
