  1. 1. Concrete Bridges : Improved Load Capacity

    Författare :Jonny Nilimaa; Terje Kanstad; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : There are many beautiful old structures around the world, some of which were designed for completely different purposes than their current applications. For example, Swedish railway bridges were only designed to carry axle loads up to 200 kN in the beginning of the 20th century, while modern loads can be twice as high. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mechanistic-Empirical Modelling of Flexible Pavement Performance : Verifications Using APT Measurements

    Författare :Abubeker W. Ahmed; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Hervè Di Benedetto; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Performance; Deformation; Model not math ; Rutting wheel ; Viscoelasticity; Elasticity; Axle load; Flexible pavement; Laboratory not an organization ; Test; Thesis; Heavy vehicle simulator; Wheel tracking test; 32 Road: Pavement design; 32 Road: Pavement design; Transportvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Mechanistic-Empirical  (M-E)  pavement  design  procedures  are  composed  of  a  reliable  response model to estimate the state of stress in the pavement and distress models in order to predict the different types of pavement distresses due to the prevailing traffic and environmental conditions. One of the main objectives of this study was to develop a response model based on multilayer elastic  theory   (MLET)  with  improved  computational  performance  by   optimizing  the   time consuming parts of the MLET processes. 4. 4. Analysis of traffic load effects an railway bridges

    Författare :Gerard James; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :bridge; rail; traffic load. Load effect. Dynamic amplification factor; extreme value theor; peaks-over-threshold;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis studies the load and loadeffects of traffic loads on railway bridges. The increasedknowledge of the traffic loads, simulated using fieldmeasurements of actual trains, are employed in a reliabilityanalysis in an attempt at upgrading existing railwaybridges. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Vehicle-Pavement Interaction

    Författare :Parisa Khavassefat; Björn Birgisson; Denis Jelagin; David Cebon; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite element; Viscoelasticity; Moving load; Dynamic axle loads; Road roughness; Flexible pavement; Stochastic;

    Sammanfattning : Several aspects of vehicle-pavement interaction have been studied and discussed in this thesis. Initially the pavement response is studied through a quasi-static and a dynamic computationally efficient framework under moving traffic loads. LÄS MER
