6. Wave Loads on Offshore Wind Power Plants
Sammanfattning : The thesis gives a short introduction to waves and discusses the problem with non-linear waves in shallow water and how they effect an offshore wind energy converter. The focus is on the realisation of non-linear waves in the time domain from short-term statistics in the form of a variance density spectrum of the wave elevation. LÄS MER
7. Buoy and Generator Interaction with Ocean Waves : Studies of a Wave Energy Conversion System
Sammanfattning : On March 13th, 2006, the Division of Electricity at Uppsala University deployed its first wave energy converter, L1, in the ocean southwest of Lysekil. L1 consisted of a buoy at the surface, connected through a line to a linear generator on the seabed. LÄS MER
8. A numerical model to simulate short-term beach and dune evolution
Sammanfattning : Sediment transport in the cross-shore (CS) and associated changes in the beach profile, especially during storms, have been topics of widespread concern. Since storms are often accompanied by high water levels and large waves, large quantities of sand from the beach and the dune are typically transported offshore, leading to severe beach and dune erosion, which threatens the integrity of buildings and infrastructure near the coast. 9. Analysis of High-Frequency Electrical Transients in Offshore Wind Parks
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, a study of high frequency electromagnetic transient phenomena is performed. Models of various components needed for simulations of high frequency transients, such as for transformers, cables and breakers are developed. LÄS MER
10. Rut Depth Prediction on Flexible Pavements - Calibration and Validation of Incremental-Recursive Models
Sammanfattning : In later years the development of pavement design has gone towards more and more analytically based methods. Future design will probably be based on incremental deterioration models. The objective is to evaluate different types of rut depth prediction models for an incremental design process. LÄS MER
