  1. 16. Impact of Cultivation Parameters on Cell Physiology of Limosilactobacillus reuteri

    Författare :Nikhil Seshagiri Rao; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; probiotics; L. reuteri; oxygen; fermentation; heterogeneity; morphology; flow cytometery; freeze-drying; stress tolerance; Online flow cytometry; k-means clustering; fatty acids; defined minimal media; pre-formulation hold time;

    Sammanfattning : Optimisation of cultivation conditions in the industrial production of probiotics is crucial to reach a high-quality product with high probiotic functionality. The production process includes a fermentation step to produce biomass, accompanied by centrifugation to concentrate the cells. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Membrane Electrode Assemblies Based on Hydrocarbon Ionomers and New Catalyst Supports for PEM Fuel Cells

    Författare :Sophie von Kraemer; Göran Lindbergh; Antonino Aricò; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Catalyst support; Carbon; High Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell; Hydrocarbon Ionomer; Membrane Electrode Assembly; Nafion; PEFC; PEMFC; Porous Electrode; Sulfonated Polysulfone; Titanium Dioxide; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a potential electrochemicalpower device for vehicles, auxiliary power units and small-scale power plants. In themembrane electrode assembly (MEA), which is the core of the PEMFC single cell,oxygen in air and hydrogen electrochemically react on separate sides of a membraneand electrical energy is generated. 3. 18. Integration of metallic source/drain contacts in MOSFET technology

    Författare :Jun Luo; Mikael Östling; Shi-Li Zhang; Anthony O'Neill; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CMOS technology; MOSFET; Schottky barrier MOSFET; metallic source drain; contact resistivity; NiSi; PtSi; SALICIDE; ultrathin silicide; FinFET; Semiconductor physics; Halvledarfysik;

    Sammanfattning : The continuous and aggressive downscaling of conventional CMOS devices has been driving the vast growth of ICs over the last few decades. As the CMOS downscaling approaches the fundamental limits, novel device architectures such as metallic source/drain Schottky barrier MOSFET (SB-MOSFET) and SB-FinFET are probably needed to further push the ultimate downscaling. 4. 19. Morcelised Impacted Cortico-Cancellous Bone Allografts in Revision Surgery for Endoprosthetic Loosening with Osteolysis

    Författare :Gösta Ullmark; Johan Kärrholm; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Total hip arthroplasty; total knee arthroplasty; graft impaction; revision; histology; biomechanic; cement; positron emission tomography; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Revision total hip arthroplasty (RTHA) and filling of the bone defects with impacted particulated bone allograft is the concept that has been studied in this thesis. In three in vitro models, biomechanical aspects of morcelised and impacted bone allografts were studied. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Chronic anterior cruciate ligament tear : knee function and knee extensor muscle size, morphology and function before and after surgical reconstruction

    Författare :Lars-Gunnar Elmqvist; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; knee joint; ligaments; articular; surgery; muscle fibre; isokinetics; exercise therapy; muscular atrophy; electromyography;

    Sammanfattning : Knee function was evaluated by knee score, activity level, clinical findings and performance tests, muscle size by computerized tomography (CT), morphology by light (LM) and electron microscopy (EM), muscle function by electromyography (EMG) and isokinetic performance in 29 patients with chronic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. Preoperatively CT disclosed a significant mean atrophy of the quadriceps and nonsignificant changes of the other muscle areas of the injured leg. LÄS MER
