1. Atrial Conduction and P-wave Characteristics: From histology to electrophysiology
Sammanfattning : P-wave morphology reflects the projection of the depolarization vector on the electrocardiogram (ECG)lead axes in three-dimentional space and reflects both right and left atrial activation. The main purpose of current thesis was to explore the internal logic between the atrial conduction properties, including intra- and inter- atrial conduction, and P-wave characteristics from the level of histology to electrophysiology. 2. Development and three-dimensional histology of vertebrate dermal fin spines
Sammanfattning : Jawed vertebrates (gnathostomes) consist of two clades with living representatives, the chondricthyans (cartilaginous fish including sharks, rays, and chimaeras) and the osteichthyans (bony fish and tetrapods), and two fossil groups, the "placoderms" and "acanthodians". These extinct forms were thought to be monophyletic, but are now considered to be paraphyletic partly due to the discovery of early chondrichthyans and osteichthyans with characters that had been previously used to define them. 3. Prognostic Factors in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)
Sammanfattning : Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the cancer disease with the highest mortality globally. About 75% of NSCLC patients are diagnosed in an advanced stage where surgical treatment is not possible. For patients with locally advanced disease without distant metastases, the treatment of choice is curatively intended radiotherapy. LÄS MER
4. Genomic characterization of non-small cell lung cancer - clinical and molecular implications
Sammanfattning : Lung cancer accounts for 1.6 million cancers annually and 1.3 million deaths per year make the disease the deadliest type of cancer. Smoking is the most prominent cause. LÄS MER
5. The clinical, radiographic, histological and ultrastructural results after Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction using autografts
Sammanfattning : The clinical, radiographic, histological and ultrastructural results after Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction using autografts Michael Svensson Department of Orthopaedics, Institute of Clinical Sciences, The Sahlgrenska Academy at G?teborg University, G?teborg, Sweden The principal aims of the study were to perform a long-term analysis of the patellar tendon structure after harvesting its central third as an autograft during ACL reconstruction. The patellar tendon underwent long-term serial morphological evaluations using MRI, histological evaluations at two and six years and ultrastructural evaluation six years after the harvesting procedure.
