11. Car-To-Car Side Impacts: Development and Validation of Mathematical Models and their Usability for Protective System Design
Sammanfattning : The objective of the present work was to develop and use mathematical models to establish principles for protective systems for occupants in car-to-car side impacts. The efforts in this work have concentrated on the protection of the thorax and abdomen since these body parts are most frequently injured in side impacts. LÄS MER
12. Modelling and inference of relative collision safety in cars
Sammanfattning : We propose a new mathematical model for relative collision safety in cars. Our present research is restricted to head-on crashes between two cars and we try to determine how much of the injury risk in a crash that depends on car model. The relative risks include the driver populations of the different car models. LÄS MER
13. Computer based statistical treatment in models with incidental parameters : inspired by car crash data
Sammanfattning : Bootstrap and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods have received much attention in recent years. We study computer intensive methods that can be used in complex situations where it is not possible to express the likelihood estimates or the posterior analytically. The work is inspired by a set of car crash data from real traffic. LÄS MER
14. A Traffic Simulation Modeling Framework for Rural Highways
Sammanfattning : Models based on micro-simulation of traffic flows have proven to be useful tools in the study of various traffic systems. Today, there is a wealth of traffic microsimulation models developed for freeway and urban street networks. The road mileage is however in many countries dominated by rural highways. LÄS MER
15. Particle emissions from car brakes : The influence of contact conditions on the pad-to-rotor interface
Sammanfattning : Due to their adverse health effects emissions have been regulated for over three decades. Brake wear particulate matter is the most important non-exhaust source, however current knowledge is mainly limited to observational studies. LÄS MER
