    Sammanfattning : When the Swedish shipowners during the shipping crisis in the middle of the 1970:sstarted to flag out their vessels to the flag of convenience-countries (FOC) this causedan acrimonious conflict between the parties on the Swedish labour market forseafarers. To be able to compete on the international freight market the shipownersfelt it necessary to flag out their vessels while the Seafarers' Union tried to preventthis development in order to protect their members'jobs.
