    Sammanfattning : It has been shown in recent years that the nickel-base Alloy 690 can become susceptible to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in the primary water of nuclear power plants with pressurized water reactors if it has been sufficiently deformed at room temperature.     Sammanfattning : The current work contains experimental and theoretical work about the formation of martensite from the austenitic state of the steel Hardox 450. Simulation of rolling and subsequent quenching of martensitic steel plates requires a model that can account for previous deformation, current stresses and the temperature history, therefore dilatometry experiments were performed, with and without deformation.     Sammanfattning : This thesis presents studies on magnetic bicrystal junctions. In these, films on either side of the junction are structurally and magnetically misoriented. This type of device enables us to study junction magnetoresistance and spin polarized charge transport between ferromagnets with well defined directions of magnetization. LÄS MER
