11. d-wave Josephson Junctions
Sammanfattning : The properties of d-wave YBCO Josephson junctions and dc-SQUIDs with high misorientation angles have beenstudied experimentally .The predominant d-wave symmetry of the pairing wavefunction in high-Tc superconductors has, to a large extent, beena hinderance in applications, but it also makes it possible to fabricate devices with novel properties that may be suitablefor applications in the quantum regime; one particulary interesting property is a strong second harmonic component in the current-phase relation ofjunctions with the electrodes oriented in a node-lobe arrangement; so-called 0-45 junctions. 12. Powder-metallurgical processing and phase separation in ternary transition metal carbides
Sammanfattning : Ternary transition metal cubic carbides have high hardness and are potential carbides in cemented carbide and cermet tools, as well as hard coatings used to improve metal cutting performance. In the present work, (Ti,Zr)C, (V,Nb)C, and (V,Ta)C ternary cubic carbides were synthesized using traditional powder-metallurgical methods. LÄS MER
13. Friction stir welding of copper canisters for nuclear waste
Sammanfattning : The Swedish model for final disposal of nuclear fuel waste is based on copper canisters as a corrosion barrier with an inner pressure holding insert of cast iron. One of the methods to seal the copper canister is to use the Friction Stir Welding (FSW), a method invented by The Welding Institute (TWI). LÄS MER
14. Growth and Structural Characterization of SiC Crystals
Sammanfattning : Silicon carbide (SiC) is a promising semiconductor material for a variety of new device applications. These include high-power devices, high-voltage switching applications, hightemperature electronics, and high-power microwave applications. Due to its superior material properties SiC provides many advantages over Si. LÄS MER
15. Fundamentals of substructure dynamics : In-situ experiments and numerical simulation
Sammanfattning : Substructure dynamics incorporate all features occurring on a subgrain-scale. The substructure governs the rheology of a rock, which in turn determines how it will respond to different processes during tectonic changes. LÄS MER
