21. The role of physical activity on bone density and bone geometry in men
Sammanfattning : THE ROLE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ON BONE DENSITY AND BONE GEOMETRY IN MEN Introduction: Several studies indicate that peak bone mass, reached during the third decade in life, is an important determinant of osteoporosis later in life. Physical activity with dynamic loading of the bone is an important determinant of peak bone mass. LÄS MER
22. Att drabbas av testikelcancer : En studie av män med behandlad testikelcancer och deras anhöriga
Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis is to describe and analyse men's experience of testicular cancer, the interaction with caregivers during the course of the disease and in the subsequent medical care process and the attitude of close relatives during this period and how they describe their life during the medical care process. The results reported in article I describe, on the basis of audio-taped dialogues between patients and physicians and interviews between patients and physicians, the impact the medical care program SWENOTECA has on the interaction between patient and physician and on how the patients experience their disease and the follow-up of care and treatment. 23. I säng och säte : relationer mellan kvinnor och män i 1600-talets Småland
Sammanfattning : What did people think about the relationship between a man and a woman in Early Modern Sweden? Did they consider love and the parties' free choice to be of any importantance in the making of a marriage? What happened when marriages were falling apart, how common were divorces? I also discuss why sexuality was restricted, and how it affected women and men. What effects did changes in the legislation have? In discussing these questions my theoretical perspective is influenced by New Cultural History. LÄS MER
24. Distal radius fracture in men from working age to the oldest. Bone mass and patient-related outcome
Sammanfattning : The distal radius fracture is the most common fracture of them all and it affects both men and women of all ages. However, no study had investigated men specifically. LÄS MER
25. Bone density, bone geometry and bone development in young men - the importance of pubertal timing and fracture history
Sammanfattning : Background and objective: Peak bone mass, the maximal bone mass attained in young adulthood, is an important factor of the lifetime risk of developing osteoporosis. The aim of this thesis was to study the development of bone mineral density (BMD) and bone geometry around the time of peak bone mass in men, and also to investigate the association between pubertal timing, fracture history, bone turnover markers and BMD and bone geometry in young men.
